A COMPARISON OF THE US PRO 2000 AND THE ULTRATENS II

Roscoe Medical is the creator of the US Pro 2000 Portable Ultrasound device and the UltraTENS II Portable Ultrasound and TENS Combo device. Ultrasound therapy and TENS electrical stimulation therapy are two of the most sought for and used modality devices among individuals seeking help in alleviating pain and facilitating tissue healing.

Therapeutic Ultrasound Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS)
Thermal effects include:
  • Increased blood flow to healing tissues
  • Increased tissue metabolism
  • Diminished pain perception
  • Increased tissue extensibility
Non-Thermal effects include:
  • Cell membrane alteration facilitating diffusion of metabolites and promotion of protein synthesis
  • Increased phagocytic activity of macrophages
These thermal and non-thermal effects facilitate soft tissue healing and repair, help restore loss of range of motion due to soft tissue shortening and contracture, and reduce pain transmission.
Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) is strictly used for helping to alleviate pain primarily via the pain control theory of pain management that effectively reduces the electrical pain signals from reaching the spinal cord and their transference to the brain where the signals are interpreted.

The TENS interruption of these pain signals reduces pain during the time of treatment and for a short period after use terminates.

Both these devices, the US Pro 2000 Portable Ultrasound device and the UltraTENS II Portable Ultrasound and TENS Combo device, are medical grade approved, Class II medical devices. A Class I Medical Device presents minimal harm to the patient and is simple in design. A Class II Medical Device poses a higher degree of risk. As such, these devices can only be purchased by a licensed healthcare provider, or with a prescription from a licensed healthcare provider, or by acceptance and signing of a Consent Waiver Form and Acknowledgement.
