The Vectra Genisys Electrotherapy System offers a comprehensive array of six therapeutic modalities in one device at a substantially reduced cost of what these modalities would cost if purchased separately. As a modular system, the different therapeutic modalities can be all inclusive, or select modalities can be added later as patient and clinic needs expand. The six modalities and their uses include:
- Ultrasound: Used to increase tissue temperature and blood flow to facilitate tissue healing and tissue extensibility (reduce contracture) and to reduce pain.
- Electrotherapy – Electrical Muscle Stimulation: Used to re-educate weakened muscles, improve joint range of motion, decrease muscle spasticity, improve blood flow to reduce swelling and facilitate healing, and to reduce pain.
- Ultrasound/Electrotherapy Combination: Both modalities delivered simultaneously.
- Laser: Used to tissue healing by facilitating ATP production and the synthesis of enzymes, DNA, RNA, reduce pain, inflammation and edema
- sEMG: A measure of muscle excitation through changes in the polarity of the muscle fiber’s membranes resulting from neural excitation.
- sEMG + Stim: A combination of both modalities.
This comprehensive therapeutic modality system is used by professionals - physical therapists, occupational therapists, chiropractors, athletic trainers - and is recommended by the Professional Football Athletic Trainers Society.
