Richmar EMG Pro - Single Channel EMG & Electrotherapy Biofeedback w/ Probes (Vaginal and Rectal)

A four-in-one rehab tool that fits in one hand. The Richmar EMG Pro pairs real-time EMG biofeedback with EMG Triggered Stim, TENS, and NMES in a single, lightweight, single-channel device — built for clinicians who need one tool that adapts to pain management, strength training, muscle re-education, and pelvic floor therapy alike. With over 30 evidence-based preset protocols and two included probe electrodes for incontinence and pelvic floor treatment, the EMG Pro is equally at home in a clinic, a home care setting, or on the road with a traveling athletic trainer.

Note: Purchase requires a prescription (unless a licensed healthcare professional)

Why Clinicians Choose the EMG Pro

  • Four modes, one device. EMG Biofeedback, EMG Triggered Stim (ETS), TENS, and NMES are all built in, each with preset and fully customizable programs — so you're not carrying four separate units to cover four different treatment goals.
  • See progress in real time. Biofeedback displays muscle activation as a live bar or line graph, giving patients immediate, visual confirmation that they're engaging (or relaxing) the right muscles — which tends to make re-education clicks faster than "just trust me, you're doing it right."
  • 30+ evidence-based preset protocols, so you're never starting from a blank slate:Built-in pelvic floor & incontinence solution. Comes with rectal and vaginal probe electrodes, turning the EMG Pro into a genuine all-in-one device for urinary incontinence and pelvic floor health — no separate stimulator needed.
    • 17 incontinence protocols
    • 10 pain management protocols
    • 7 muscle re-education protocols
  • Patient data, saved and organized. Store and manage training and assessment data for a single patient in up to 31 saved sessions, so progress is trackable visit to visit (and deletable when you no longer need it).
  • Lightweight and genuinely portable. Small enough to travel between exam rooms, athletic facilities, or a patient's home without feeling like you're hauling clinic equipment.
  • Broad clinical reach. Useful across orthopedic and sports rehab, neurological impairment, and pelvic health populations — one device, many referral sources.

How the Four Modes Work

EMG Biofeedback Measures the electrical activity of a targeted muscle and displays it on-screen as a bar or line graph in real time. Patients see the muscle firing (or not firing), which turns an invisible internal process into something they can consciously control — useful for both strengthening weak, underactive muscles and teaching overactive muscles to relax.

EMG Triggered Stim (ETS) Combines biofeedback with electrical stimulation: the device is triggered to deliver stimulation once the patient reaches a target muscle activation threshold. This reinforces the correct movement pattern at the moment the patient achieves it, closing the feedback loop between effort and result.

TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) Delivers electrical current through the skin to help manage and reduce pain, using customizable and preset pain-management protocols.

NMES (Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation) Stimulates motor nerves to contract muscle, supporting strengthening, re-education, and muscle relaxation work.

Who It's For

Clinicians & settings: Physical therapists, athletic trainers, occupational therapists, and pelvic health specialists working in outpatient clinics, sports medicine facilities, or home health — anywhere a lightweight, multi-mode device beats hauling around several single-purpose units.

Patient populations: Orthopedic and sports rehab patients, individuals with neurological impairment, and patients addressing urinary incontinence or pelvic floor dysfunction. The EMG Pro is designed to flex across this range rather than serve just one niche.

Pelvic Floor & Incontinence Therapy, Built In

The EMG Pro ships with two dedicated probe electrodes:

  • Vaginal probe
  • Rectal probe

Each probe uses two conductive plate electrodes (one on each side) to stimulate pelvic floor muscles directly, supporting treatment of urinary incontinence and other pelvic floor health conditions. Both probes are ergonomically designed for comfortable insertion and are intended for multi-use on a single patient — meaning one patient's probe is reused for that patient across sessions (not shared between patients; see cleaning guidance in the FAQ below).

Safety & Precautions

The EMG Pro is a prescription (Rx only) medical device intended for use under the guidance of a qualified clinician. As with any electrotherapy device, it should not be used by patients with cardiac pacemakers or other implanted electronic devices, over the carotid sinus, over the abdomen or lower back during pregnancy, over areas of broken or infected skin, or by individuals with certain conditions such as epilepsy or active cancer without physician clearance. Always review full indications, contraindications, and precautions in the device manual and confirm appropriateness with the patient's healthcare provider before use.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between EMG Biofeedback and EMG Triggered Stim? Biofeedback just shows you the muscle activity — it doesn't stimulate anything. EMG Triggered Stim watches for the patient to hit a target activation level, thendelivers stimulation as a reward/reinforcement for the correct effort.

Can one EMG Pro be used for multiple patients? The device itself can move between patients (with proper electrode/probe hygiene between uses), but the probes are designed for multi-use on a single patient rather than shared across patients.

How do I clean the vaginal and rectal probes? Follow the cleaning and disinfection instructions in the device manual between each use on the same patient. Probes should never be shared between different patients.

Is the EMG Pro covered by insurance or HSA/FSA? Coverage varies by insurer and plan. Because this is an Rx-only device, a prescription and appropriate documentation are typically required for reimbursement — check with the patient's insurance provider or HSA/FSA administrator directly.

Who typically uses the EMG Pro — is it just for pelvic health? No — while the included probes make it a strong pelvic floor and incontinence tool, the same device covers orthopedic and sports rehab, pain management, and neuromuscular re-education through its TENS, NMES, and biofeedback modes.

Is the EMG Pro portable enough for home use or travel between clinics? Yes — it's designed to be lightweight and compact so clinicians (like traveling athletic trainers) or patients can use it outside a fixed clinic setting, in addition to standard in-clinic use.

How many treatment protocols come preloaded? Over 30 evidence-based presets are built in: 17 for incontinence, 10 for pain management, and 7 for muscle re-education — plus the ability to customize programs beyond the presets.
