ComboCare Professional E-Stim and Ultrasound Combo Device VS the SoundCare Plus Professional Ultrasound Device

Therapeutic Ultrasound

Both these devices provide ultrasound therapy in the treatment of a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. Ultrasound therapy introduces high-frequency acoustic vibrations that produce mechanical sound waves that transfer energy into body tissues. The energy from the sound waves is capable of producing thermal and nonthermal effects.

  • Thermal effects include deep tissue heating and associated increased blood blow and cellular metabolism. These physiological changes aid in reducing pain, increasing connective tissue extensibility, spur tissue healing, all of which quicken a patient’s return to activity or competition.
  • Nonthermal effects include the regeneration of tissue through enhanced protein synthesis facilitating a quicker healing process.

This chart presents only the “ Ultrasound Therapy” comparative specifications.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation (E-Stim)

E-stim is the introduction of an electrical current or impulses through the skin via electrodes to stimulate nerve and muscle tissue to aid in muscle rehabilitation efforts while providing other important benefits. Different electrical stimulation waveforms provide different physiological benefits for a variety of uses related to neuromuscular re-education. Here are the benefits and associated uses of the different waveforms.

2-Pole Interferential Mode Waveform

Benefits
  • Pain relief
  • Enhanced muscle stimulation
  • Reduced muscle fatigue

Uses

  • Acute and chronic pain management
  • Muscle strengthening
  • Neuromuscular education

4-Pole Interferential Mode Waveform

Benefits
  • Deep tissue pain relief
  • Reduced muscle spasms and stiffness
  • Improved circulation and tissue healing

Uses

  • Chronic pain management
  • Post-surgical rehabilitation
  • Muscle re-education post injury

Russian Mode Waveform

Benefits
  • Muscle strengthening and hypertrophy
  • Enhanced blood circulation
  • Improved muscle endurance

Uses

  • Muscle rehabilitation
  • Performance enhancement
  • Post-injury muscle recovery

EMS Mode Waveform

Benefits
  • Muscle strengthening and toning
  • Pain relief
  • Improved circulation

Uses

  • Muscle rehabilitation
  • Reduce degree of muscle atrophy with injury and immobility

TENS Mode Waveform

Benefits
  • Pain relief
  • Reduced muscle tension
  • Increased endorphin production

Uses

  • Acute and chronic pain management
  • Muscle relaxation

These two devices are among our top selling therapeutic modalities used by healthcare professionals in the treatment of their patients for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. Both devices are known for their excellent design, durability, portability, ease of use, and versatility in providing maximum treatment benefits. In a nutshell, the primary difference between the two devices is the delivery of one verses two different modalities as would be determined by the specific needs of the practitioner for his or her unique clientele and desired treatment outcomes .

Note: There has been some confusion as to the manufacturer of these two devices as companies have been purchased and merged. So, in summary, Current Solutions was purchased by Roscoe Medial, which then became Compass Health Brands. Compass Health Brands purchased Richmar and rebranded their therapy items to Richmar.
